The rugged penninsular of Portland takes the full force of some very fierce storms coming in across The Channel, but even on calmer days the motion of the sea can be appealing as the rise and fall of the water creates patterns in the wash.

There are numerous disused quarries along the coastline of the UK. In Dorset the quarries extracted Purbeck and Portland stone which was very popular for the marble which was (and still is) used extensivley for construction of churches and cathedrals, tombs, paving and cottages. The cranes used to lower the stone into the waiting ships were called whims and this replical one can be found at Portland Bill.

  • Paper: Fotospeed Platinum Gloss Art Fibre 300

Platinum Gloss Art Fibre is a gorgeous, tactile, heavyweight 300gsm exhibition quality paper. The paper’s archival quality makes it an ideal selection for limited edition prints where rich contrasty tones are required. Although it’s name suggests gloss, the paper surface is reminiscent of traditional wet darkroom papers, rather than modern ultra-glossy modern papers.

The edition of 15 is divided between the 3 sizes.

  • 12x15" x 5
  • 16x20" x 5
  • 24x30" x 5
